Schoolhouse Creek Bushcare

Schoolhouse Creek Bushcare

schoolhouse creek 2

When: Every second Sunday of the month.

Time: 8am to 12pm.

Meeting location: Eastern end of Martin Street, Regentville.

This site is located at the eastern end of Martin Street in Regentville and here lies a small but ecologically significant Bushcare site. Following the path of Schoolhouse Creek, which joins Mulgoa Creek and flows into the Nepean River, it is home to one of our region’s most iconic and elusive species, the platypus.

This reserve features a blend of native plantings and surviving pockets of remnant bushland. These remaining fragments provide important habitat for native wildlife and play a crucial role in maintaining local biodiversity and hydrology.

Tasks include removing madeira vine, Japanese honeysuckle, moth vine, bridal creeper and woody weeds such as small-leaved privet.

It is home to the screaming tree frog, eastern snake-necked turtle and the Pacific black duck.
