Hire a Sports Facility

Penrith City Council provides a wide range of sporting facilities that support numerous sporting codes across the City. Many are available for seasonal allocation, casual hire or special event bookings.

Before making a booking enquiry, please ensure you have read the Terms and Conditions of hire relevant to your booking request.

Fees and Charges

Each sports facility has different fees and charges. Download our Recreation and Leisure Facilities 2026-2027 Fees and Charges. This list applies from 1 July 2026 and overrides all previously listed fees.

Our fees are reviewed and updated on 1 July each year.

Seasonal Allocation

Applications are open for the use of Penrith City Council’s Sports Grounds for the 2026/2027 Summer Season, running from Saturday 19 September 2026 to Sunday 7 March 2027.

Returning hirers will be prompted to submit their seasonal hire enquiry through Council’s new online booking system, with applications closing on 3 August 2026.

Note: Blanket booking requests and applications submitted without all required documentation will not be considered. Booking requests are not guaranteed and late applications will only be considered if field availability permits.

Casual or one-off

Our sporting grounds are available for hire on a casual basis for organised sporting and select recreation activities.

Casual bookings can now be requested through Council’s new online booking portal.

Casual bookings requested through the MyBookings Portal must be submitted at least 21 days prior to the event date, for booking requests with less than 21 days notice please call to check availability.

Playgrounds and barbecue/ picnic facilities cannot be reserved. These are available on a “first in best dressed” basis. We ask users to leave the facility clean and tidy for the next user.

Special Events

Sporting grounds and reserves may be booked for special events, carnivals and various community activities. 

Prices and permits vary depending on the nature of the booking and the park / reserve requested.

Application forms must be completed and returned with all required supporting documentation at least 6 weeks prior to the event date. Please note, some activities may incur additional processing times including but not limited to:

• Signage such as display boards or banners
• Selling or consumption of alcohol
• Use of portable structures, tents, sunshades, marquees and stalls
• Selling of food
• Traffic Management and road closures
• Amusement rides, jumping castles, animal farms or petting zoos
• Fireworks
