Peppermint Reserve Bushcare

Peppermint Reserve Bushcare

peppermint reserve 1 peppermint reserve 2

When: Every third Sunday of the month.

Time: 8am to 12pm.

Meeting location: Southern end of Peppermint Crescent, Kingswood.

This site is located in Kingswood and is one of the few remaining pockets of the critically endangered ecological community (CEEC) Cumberland Plain Woodland. This reserve tells a powerful story of regeneration — once overrun with weeds, it’s now being carefully brought back to life by a passionate team of volunteers. Their tireless efforts in weeding and planting are helping native plants reclaim the land, turning the tide for this endangered ecosystem.

Tasks include removal of African love grass, mother of millions, African olive and bridal creeper that threaten to smother the native vegetation.

It is home to blue-tongued lizards, a small family of visiting eastern grey kangaroos, and is popular with the birds such as the superb fairywren, galahs and the yellow thornbill.

If you’d like to volunteer, please reach out to our Bushcare team via the volunteering form!
