When: Every third Tuesday of the month.
Time: 9am to 12pm.
Meeting location: End of Tattersall Place, Emu Plains.
This site is located in Emu Plains and this Bushcare Group plays a crucial role in protecting and restoring this reserve.
Locals approached Council in early 2023 to kick off some community conservation here. The bushland is essential for supporting local native biodiversity. Thanks to the dedication of our Bushcare volunteers, invasive weeds have been significantly reduced along the creek line and surrounding bushland, allowing native species to regenerate.
The site has also expanded through community planting efforts, including our Trees for Mum event in 2024 and Trees for Dad in 2019, which have helped increase our native green spaces.
Tasks include removal of woody weeds such as lantana, small-leaved privet, control of vines such as madeira vine, moth vine, corky passionfruit and other weeds like bridal creeper and African love grass.
It is home to a variety of our native critters such as the brushtail possum, Peron's tree frog and kookaburras.
If you’d like to volunteer, please reach out to our Bushcare team via the volunteering form!
