Gow Park Bushcare

Gow Park Bushcare

gow park 1 gow park 2

When: Every first Wednesday of the month.

Time: 9am to 12pm.

Meeting location: Gow Park, Littlefields Road, Mulgoa.

This site is located in Mulgoa along the beautiful Mulgoa Creek and is home to a great example critically endangered ecological community (CEEC) Cumberland Plain Woodland.

This Group has achieved conservation success here for over 30 years, with highlights including the presence of endangered species such as the Cumberland plain land snail, native pear (Marsdenia viridiflora subsp. Viridiflora) and spiked rice-flower (Pimelea spicata).

Tasks include weeding of African love grass and mother of millions as well as targeting the weed crassula by the creek, and collecting litter, especially along the shared boundary with the road.

It is home to powerful owls (we often see them perched in the magnificent old gums during the night!), swamp wallabies and an array of birds.
