Bellbird Reserve Bushcare

Bellbird Reserve Bushcare

bellbird reserve 1 bellbird reserve 2

When: Every third Saturday of the month.

Time: 8am to 12pm.

Meeting location: Corner of Barina Crescent and Kaloona drive, Emu Plains.

This site is located in Emu Plains and has an interesting history!

The Hall family owned the land prior to Council and they built historical rock walls throughout the reserve.

It’s a beautiful example of the transitioning vegetation from the flats of the Cumberland Plain into the sandstone of the Blue Mountains. One of the only areas you can find this vegetation in the Penrith local government area. Lapstone Creek winds down through the Blue Mountains and through Bellbird Reserve, before flowing through Penrith and eventually into the Nepean River.

Tasks include woody weed removal, targeting weed species of vines and climbers.

Home to the common eastern froglet, eastern snake-necked turtle and a variety of birds, this site is a must see!
