Summer Reading Challenge

We know the secret to having a great summer... Add books! This challenge is for 0–18-year-olds.

Borrow great titles at any Penrith City Library Service’s branch or find e-books in our eLibrary. 

Record your reads on the Summer Reading Challenge log sheet and submit to any of our branches branch by Saturday 31 January 2026 for a chance to win great prizes. 

Open in 3 categories - preschool, primary, and secondary.

 Joan Pearson Reading Awards 

• One winner will be drawn from each of the 3 age categories and be awarded a personalised certificate and $50 book voucher. 
• 4 runners up will be drawn from each of the 3 age categories and be awarded a personalised certificate and $20 book voucher. 
• All participants will be invited to collect a certificate of achievement from any Penrith City Library Service’s branch from Friday 6 February 2025. 
• The Joan Pearson Reading Awards are kindly sponsored by the Burns Family in honour of the late Joan Pearson, Penrith City Library’s Chief Librarian 1956-1958, encouraging young people’s literacy and a love of reading.
