E-Waste Drop-off Day

Bring your unwanted, outdated and broken electronics to us for recycling!

As e-waste is growing at three times the rate of other waste, it’s important to dispose of your broken or unwanted electronic items responsibly, either recycling or reusing them. When we place these items in our household bins, they’re sent to landfill where they pose a risk of harming our environment and wildlife.

We accept the following types of electronic waste:

  • cables
  • cameras
  • CD drives
  • clock radios
  • computers and related products including monitors, mice, keyboards and gaming consoles
  • DVD players
  • electric blankets
  • electrical power tools (not petrol-based)
  • electronic games/toys
  • fax machines
  • floppy discs
  • grooming devices
  • hard drives
  • iPods
  • juicers
  • mixers
  • monitors
  • networking equipment
  • notebooks
  • personal electrical devices
  • printers and printer cartridges
  • projectors
  • scanners
  • small kitchen appliances
  • stereos
  • TVs
  • VCR players
  • video cameras
  • mp3 players

Where possible, please ensure any batteries are removed prior to the event and taken to a certified battery collection point.

We will not be accepting:

  • air conditioners
  • BBQs
  • car batteries
  • chemical items
  • edgers and trimmers
  • gas bottles
  • household batteries
  • large speakers from sound systems
  • petrol-powered small appliances and tools
  • whitegoods including car fridges

Some of these items may be accepted at the Chemical CleanOut events or in a bulky waste collection. For more information on how to dispose of these and other items, see the A-Z of Waste & Recycling.

What to do

  • Pack your electronic waste in your car or trailer.
  • When you come down, stay in your vehicle.
  • The friendly staff will unload for you and the items collected will be recycled.
  • All items dropped off at the event are disassembled, sorted and recovered for recycling into new products. Scavenging is not permitted.
  • Enjoy the rest of your day!

You do not need to book a timeslot. You can come down on the day anytime within our event hours.

Why should I bring my e-waste to the drop-off and not put it in my household bins?

E-waste doesn’t belong in household bins as it poses a significant risk to the environment and wildlife as some components can be toxic. Bringing us your e-waste means we can have it disassembled, sorted, and recovered. Some electronic items contain valuable materials that can be reused again.

I can’t make it on the day, but I have e-waste I want to dispose of.
