A Nod to Nature — Saving the Nodding Geebung
Join our Bushcare team and special guests and learn about the endangered Nodding Geebung. We'll be going on a nature safari and participating in a weeding activity.
We’re learning more about the unique Nodding Geebung (Persoonia nutans) which only occurs in certain parts of western Sydney.
Join us for a great morning and:
- Listen to a talk from Department of Planning and Environment (DPE) on the Saving our Species program which aims to protect endangered species such as the Nodding Geebung
- Go on a nature safari through the bushland and learn how to spot this beautiful species whilst also seeing what other animals and plants live here
- Learn from Hawkesbury–Nepean Landcare Network what you and other property owners can do to help conserve this species on their land
- Participate in a weeding activity to improve habitat for the Nodding Geebung
For the kids, children can take home a Nodding Geebung activity sheet.
Refreshments and weeding activity equipment all provided. The event is open to all ages (children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult) and to all experiences.
Spots are limited, so secure your place at Eventbrite.
