Penrith Civic Centre closed for Christmas and New Year break 2021

With 2021 drawing to a close, Penrith City Council would like to wish our community all the very best for a safe and happy festive season and to advise that our Civic Centre will be closed for the holiday period.

Council’s General Manager Warwick Winn said it had been a difficult year for many and that he hoped residents would be able to enjoy some time with family and friends over the coming weeks.

“I think it’s the best Christmas present any of us could wish for, the chance to spend time with those we love in our homes and at the many wonderful venues across our City,” Mr Winn said.

“Council staff will be taking a well-earned break this holiday period. Like many in our community, they’ve faced ongoing work and life challenges over the past two years, and I’d like to commend them for their contribution to the programs, services and support Council has continued to provide.

“Parts of our City were among the hardest hit in the most recent lockdown. I’m proud of the resilience shown by our community and of Council’s ongoing COVID response and recovery efforts – including the North St Marys Hamper Hub.”

Please note, the Penrith Civic Centre and St Marys Council Office will be closed during the Christmas and New Year holiday period from 4pm Friday, 24 December 2021 and will reopen on Tuesday, 4 January 2022.

The customer service phone line, 4732 7777, will be open during this period for waste related requests and emergency calls only, including bin collection issues, dog attacks, Ranger requests, reporting burst water mains, and other pressing matters.

Customers will also be able to report any non-urgent issues 24/7 via our online services portal via penrith.city/onlineservices
