Applications now open for Penrith’s community funding program

Penrith City Council is excited to announce that applications for its community funding program are now open to 25 July 2025, with 5 grant options available.

Penrith Mayor Todd Carney said the community funding program played a key role in supporting community-led initiatives.

“Penrith has a long-standing commitment to supporting our community through a wide range of grants,” Cr Carney said.

“I encourage anyone with a great idea or project to visit our website, talk to Council staff and apply. Working together, we can deliver meaningful outcomes for our residents and the City.”

The program offers targeted funding to support a diverse range of community initiatives that build stronger, safer, more vibrant and creative neighbourhoods across the Penrith local government area.

The 2025 community funding program includes:
Thriving communities grant: Supporting initiatives that promote health, wellbeing and connection among residents. This grant enables community-led activities that make Penrith a more inclusive and resilient place to live.
Safe communities – domestic and family violence grant: Reinforcing Council’s commitment to preventing domestic and family violence, this grant funds primary prevention projects that address root causes and drive long-term cultural change.
Local events grant: Supporting events that bring people together, this grant fosters social cohesion and a strong sense of community wellbeing.
Magnetic places grant: Encouraging creative expression in local neighbourhoods, this grant supports arts-based projects that share resident stories and activate public spaces to enhance our collective sense of place.
Local creativity grant: This grant supports individuals and groups to deliver creative and cultural activities that contribute to Penrith’s dynamic and diverse cultural scene.
