Festival a REAL success

Millions injected into local economy on Real Festival weekend.

Approximately $6 million was injected into the Penrith economy in just one weekend, thanks to the impact that events deliver to the City.

September saw a vibrant mix of signature cultural events and world-class sporting competitions come to Penrith. The city hosted the Sunset Bash concert at Panthers Penrith, the Red Belly Warriors Knockout competition in Werrington, and the IRONMAN 70.3 Western Sydney competition at the Sydney International Regatta Centre. The centrepiece of the weekend was Penrith City Council’s Real Festival, attracting an impressive 45,000 attendees over two days.

Excellent weather and the picturesque setting of the Nepean River, combined with a diverse and engaging program, drew crowds to Real Festival at Tench Reserve. The event grounds buzzed with excitement and creativity as families and friends enjoyed a huge variety of food offerings, immersed themselves in a vibrant atmosphere of sound, light and colour, shopped at local market stalls, and participated in numerous workshops and exciting activities.

Successful events like these will not only elevate Penrith’s reputation as a dynamic and inclusive destination to visitors, but they also offer residents the chance to experience all that their city has to offer.

Penrith City Council is developing an Events Strategy for 2025–2030 and is now calling for community feedback.  For more information and to complete the survey before it closes on Monday 25 November 2024, visit yoursaypenrith.com.au
