Penrith City Council has received notable recognitions at several prestigious awards ceremonies recently, highlighting Council’s commitment to excellence and innovation.

Penrith City Council was Highly Commended in two categories at the NGAA Awards: ‘Advocacy’ and ‘Leadership in Growth Areas’.

The Advocacy recognition was awarded for the living documents created to proactively engage with government stakeholders, peak bodies, and industry groups on Penrith’s priority projects.

The Leadership in Growth Areas commendation recognised the Council's visionary leadership in shaping the future of St Marys Town Centre. These accolades are a testament to the hard work and strategic vision of the staff involved in these initiatives.

Local Government Excellence Awards

At the Local Government Excellence Awards in June, Penrith City Council was a finalist in four categories. The ICT (Information and Communications Technology) Data and Visualisation Geographic Information System (GIS) team was Highly Commended in the Special Project Initiative category for their project synchronising the Council’s spatial data with state government data standards. This project was a collaborative effort with the NSW Department of Customer Service - Spatial Services. Congratulations to the ICT GIS team and all the finalists for their innovative contributions.

Australasian Reporting Awards for Excellence in Reporting

Penrith City Council received a Gold Award for its 2022-23 Annual Report from the Australasian Reporting Awards for Excellence in Reporting. This marks the ninth consecutive year the Council has earned this honour, reflecting the high standards upheld by the Corporate Planning and Performance and Communications teams. Their dedicated efforts, along with contributions from staff across the organisation, have consistently demonstrated outstanding reporting practices.
