Tenders called for Dunheved Road Upgrade

Improved connectivity, efficiency and safety on one of Penrith’s busiest roads is a step closer, with Penrith City Council now inviting tenders for the design and construction of the Dunheved Road Upgrade.

The upgrade will see the busy and congested route between Richmond Road and the Werrington Road/Christie Street roundabout improved by adding extra lanes, upgrading key intersections and delivering new active transport links.

These changes are designed to support traffic flow along the road, especially during peak periods, and reduce queuing times at busy intersections. Pedestrians and cyclists will also be supported with a new shared pathway and footpath.

Dunheved Road is also an essential link for residents and workers to access nearby homes, businesses and schools, and is set to serve an even greater function in the future by helping to connect Penrith to the emerging growth centre in St Marys.

Tenders are invited until 24 July 2024 via vendorpanel.com. Construction is expected to start in early 2025. For more information visit penrith.city/dunhevedroad.
